Spread over 190.7 square kilometres in total, about 1,400 inhabitants call Lesachtal Valley their home. The villages of Liesing, Maria Luggau, Birnbaum and St. Lorenzen are dotted along the Gail – the name of the river in the valley. They are all perched at heights of between 947 and 1,179 metres above sea level. The landscape and its people are shaped by alpine traditions and influences from the nearby Adriatic region. At the Urhof, you will reside in the village of Liesing, right in the heart of the valley.

To the north, the Lienz Dolomites and Gailtal Alps watch over our valley, while the mighty Carnic Ridge extends to the south.
